Daily Prayer for June 12

And when he comes, he will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God’s judgment. They are wrong about sin, because they do not believe in me; they are wrong about what is right, because I am going to the Father and you will not see me any more; and they are wrong about judgment, because the ruler of this world has already been judged. John 16:8–11, TEV

Lord our God, we thank you that throughout our lives you continually renew your Spirit in us. We thank you that your Spirit enables us to understand Jesus Christ and to follow him all our days on earth. Bless us, and let the revelation of your Spirit come to the world, to the people of all nations, a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit in each heart. But there must still be punishment for sin. For the sake of justice the world has to suffer punishment through judgment. For you, Almighty God, are Lord, and not even Satan, the prince of this world, can act against your will. You will carry out your will through the Holy Spirit. Our task is simply to follow Jesus all our days. This shall be our joy, this priceless gift of following the Lord Jesus. Praise to your name that we have him and his witness in the gospel every day. Praise to your name that every day, even through great distress, we can joyfully follow him in the strength of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17, NIV

Lord our Savior, you are our Lord and our Helper. Show yourself again and again in our hearts as the Savior who is strong to help us even in difficult times. Remember the many people who sigh to you. Guide them into the protection of the almighty God. Even if they suffer pain and distress and have to go through fear and anxiety, even if they die, Lord Jesus, you are comfort and help. In everything life brings us you will show yourself as the One who does the will of God and who carries it out for us on earth. Amen.

I will sing of the love of the Lord forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself. Psalm 89:1–2, NIV

WHO IS GOD? PART 7 OF 11

June 2, 2018

Luke 17
1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

WHO IS GOD? PART 7 OF 11

This Day’s Thought from The Ranch- Special Note

This Day's Thought from The Ranch

Special Note from Eric Elder, founder of The Ranch: Our daily thoughts will be posted shortly, but before that I wanted to ask for your help.

I’ve recently published one of the most important books I’ve ever written. It’s called, Loving God & Loving Gays: What’s A Christian To Do? For those who may not know it, I used to be involved in homosexuality myself until I put my faith in Christ and married a woman beyond my dreams.

With so many Christians being impacted personally by this issue today, I felt it would be helpful to share what I’ve learned over the past 30 years of not only dealing with same-sex attractions myself, but also having ministered one-on-one to hundreds of others who have experienced such attractions.

Loving God & Loving Gays: What's A Christian To Do?
Would you be interested in reading this new book and sharing it with others?

If so, there are three simple ways to get a copy, any of which would help greatly in spreading the word out about this important new book.

1) Post a 1-2 sentence review on Amazon. If you’d be willing to read the book and post a short review on Amazon, I’ll send you a complimentary PDF version of the book that you can read first. After reading it, just post a 1-2 sentence review on Amazon. And if you email me afterward with a link to your review, I’ll send you a paperback version of the book as well! Your reviews are so helpful in encouraging others to read this biblical perspective on such an important topic. To request a PDF copy to review, just email me at [email protected]

2) Make a donation of any size to our ministry. If you’d like a copy without posting a review, just make a donation of any size and I’ll send you a paperback version of the book, anywhere in the world, as our way of saying thanks. Your donations help us to continue creating resources like these so even more people can hear about the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Click here to make a donation and request a paperback.

3) Order the book directly from Amazon. You can also get a copy of the book, in paperback or ebook versions, directly from Amazon. All proceeds go directly back into our ministry to create more resources like these, so whatever way you get it, know that you’re blessing others as well as yourself. (This book is also available in Spanish thanks to one of our subscribers who helped us get it translated so we could share it with even more people. Click to order a copy in English or click here to order the Spanish edition.)

Could I ask 2 more things before I close?

1) Would you be interested in joining an online “Book Discussion Group” on this topic? If there’s enough interest, I’d like to host an online book discussion group starting next week, May 31, and continuing for 12 weeks, discussing 1 chapter per week. We would meet on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm Central Time using an online chat tool where you can join the conversation via audio, video, smart phone or regular phone. If you’d be interested in joining such a group, email me at [email protected] for more details.

2) Could you pray for me? I’ve been asked to speak on this topic several times in recent months, which I’ve been very happy to do. Each time, I’ve seen a significant response in those who have heard this message as they learn more about a topic that is so close to so many people’s hearts. You can watch some of these talks online at these links: Eastview Church (7 minutes), Ax Church (25 minutes… my interview starts 31 minutes into the video), Eastview Youth (42 minutes). Would you pray for me as I continue sharing Christ in this way in the coming months, that even more people would hear the life-changing power of Christ? And if you’d like to talk about having me speak to your group or church, just email me at [email protected]

Thanks for your help and for reading this special announcement. Our daily thoughts will follow shortly!

Eric

This Day’s Thought from The Ranch- Special Note

Daily Prayer for May 22

I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you. Psalm 22:22, NIV

Lord our God, Almighty Father in heaven, we stand before you as your children, whom you want to protect through the need of our time, through all sin and death. We praise you for giving us so much peace in an age full of trouble, and for granting us the assurance of your help. Even when we suffer, we do not want to remain in the darkness of suffering but want to rise up to praise and glorify you. For your kingdom is coming; it is already at hand. Your kingdom comforts and helps us and points the way for the whole world, that your will may be done on earth as in heaven. Amen.

Daily Prayer for May 20

Such prayer is right, and approved by God our Saviour, whose will it is that all men should find salvation and come to know the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4, NEB

Lord our God, give us your Spirit, we pray, that we may learn to understand what we are and what tasks you have set for us. We thank you for all the light you give us. Grant that we and many others may come closer to knowledge of the truth and be at peace about all that belongs in your hands, our Father in heaven. Keep us now and forevermore in your almighty hand. May we know your goodness and the blessing it brings. For through your goodness we can endure even the hardest days and be victorious in the battle of life. Amen.
