New Horizon Festival in Ireland with Sam Allberry

Sam Allberry recently spent the week at New Horizon, a week-long Christian festival in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, which exists to provide a space and time in which thousands of people of all ages can be taught from the Bible, be inspired through worship and story, develop a missional heart, and engage with relevant and challenging issues. Sam spoke during the evening celebrations on the Gospel of Mark as well as seminars during the day on “Sexuality, Jesus, and Good News,” exploring how Jesus’ words on human sexuality are challenging, humbling, and hopeful for all of us.

In the Trump administration a few have commented on listening to the federal government […]

David Fitch, James Cone: Liberation Theology 1

By David Fitch, Professor at Northern Seminary. James Cone’s The Cross and The Lynching Tree, although six years old, still has much to teach about living into Christ’s Kingdom in regard to the systemic injustice of racism around us. Cone recently passed away and is recognized as the founder and leader of the black theology […]

It’s Graduation Day at Northern Seminary, and I have 15 DMin students graduating and I will miss each one of them. Good students, good pastors and leaders, good thesis projects. But it’s also Weekly Meanderings Day! An excerpt from Blue Parakeet David Swartz: Some years ago, a town in Iceland stopped the construction of a […]
